Loess Hills

One of the purposes for my Midwestern road trip was a stop in the Loess Hills of western Iowa.  They are a geological feature, an eco-region, and a socio-cultural distinction, none of which are well known beyond its boundaries!

  1. My friend, you are doing exactly what I aspire to do. Travel the US wherever my feet take me. Or perhaps the tires of my car. Be that as it may, I just found your blog a few short minutes ago, and already I know I’ve found a kindred spirit. For one thing, though I currently live in Indiana and have for years, my true home will always be Wisconsin. For another, you seem to appreciate nature and culture and the color of everything around you in the same equal measure – as I do.
Maybe we’ll run into each other on our travels one day.
